Since America is suppose to be the best country to live in and provide the most opportunities for people, we would like to think that the average IQ in America is the highest in the world. Sadly, this is not the case. On average, the IQ scores in America are not even near the top. There are many countries out there whose estimated average IQ is much higher than the United States.

Years ago the United States education used to be far and above any other in the world. Our education systems, colleges and opportunities to learn were great and¬†abundant.¬†Technology, however, has closed that advantage at an alarming rate and even so much that America isn’t even considered near the top. Now more and more countries are able to have access to the same information to learn as the United States. This is a great thing, but it seems that times people in America are taking advantage of this priviledge where other countries are not….and this is why the average IQ in America is dropping while other countries are going up.

What is the average IQ in america?

If you look at a ranking of the average IQ per country, you will see countries like Hong Kong, South Korea, and Japan are ranking near the top. You have to look down near the 19th or 20th spot to find the United States. The average IQ in America is roughly 100. What this will mean for the future of the United States still has not been seen, but most predict that America will no longer be the super power in the next 40 or 50 years like it has been for the last 100.

What we really need is to start investing a lot of money back into our education system and encourage more opportunities for kids to learn. Education has to be one of the most important things we look at going into the future if we want to increase the average IQ in America and keep the United States as the best and most innovative country in the world. If we do not, things may be very different 40 years from now.
